What is a Savvion Dataslot?

A Dataslot as the name suggests is a storage location used to store valuable information required in the process flow. It is a container that stores a meaningful value that can be used throughout the process instance life cycle.

For example, in a business process for leave application approval flow, you can have a few dataslots - one dataslot that stores the leave approver name, another dataslot to store approver decision. Dataslot can be used the same way as a variable in any of the programming language.

A Dataslot can be passed to the worksteps within the process flow and its value can be changed through out the life cycle of the flow.
